Determination Breeds Success

Have you ever wanted something so badly that it’s all you think and dream about? Sometimes, even though we want something, there are obstacles that can make achieving our goals difficult. With enough determination, however, success can be achieved. Here is a story about a little girl named Angelina:

Ever since Angelina was a little girl she loved animals. She grew up in a house filled with chirping birds, cuddly guinea pigs, and happily barking dogs. She loved animals so much that when she was ten years old, Angelina decided that one day she would become a veterinarian.

Although Angelina’s parents both worked very hard, they did not have a lot of money to save for Angelina to go to college. They told her that if she wanted to become a doctor for animals, she would have to do very well in school so that she could receive scholarships.

So that’s what Angelina did. She spent her time studying and learning and whenever she felt tired or discouraged, she would play with her dog, T-Rex, and her guinea pig, Fancy Nancy, until she felt motivated again. And it worked! It took a lot of effort and a lot of work, but Angelina worked so hard throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school, that when she applied for five different colleges, they all offered her scholarships.

Today Angelina is a veterinarian. She gets to spend her days helping and taking care of sick animals, and she spends her free time volunteering at local animal shelters. She also has a house filled with her very own chirping birds, cuddly guinea pigs, and happily barking dogs.

Angelina’s determination led to her becoming a veterinarian. What will your determination lead you to?
